Introduction

When WeLiveIT was first registered, the owner quickly put together a simple logo using Canva — just enough to get the business registered and online. But as the company expanded its services and team, it was clear that a DIY logo and outdated site wouldn’t cut it anymore.

My job was to lead a complete rebrand — from refreshing their identity to rolling it out across their website, Google Business profile, and digital marketing channels — creating a modern, credible face for the company’s next chapter.

Defining the New Direction

I kicked things off by researching other IT service companies in South Africa — mapping out trends in colours, typography, and design approaches. I paid special attention to keywords and search phrases that competitors used for Google Ads and SEO, then used that insight to shape both the branding and site structure.

One clear takeaway: the existing logo didn’t reflect the company’s new scale or ambition. The first priority was to modernize the identity — then roll it out everywhere from the business cards to the website.

Designing the New Identity

I developed a series of early logo sketches exploring updated layouts, icons, and type treatments.

After rounds of refinements, we settled on a mark that feels modern, tech-forward, and versatile — with multiple lockups for light/dark use, plus a favicon for digital platforms.

Colour Palette:
Based on my research and what works in the local IT market, I anchored the brand in a palette of blues and greys — colours that communicate trust, stability, innovation, and security.

  • Dark Blue (#224870) for trust and professionalism

  • Light Blue (#79898C) for modernity and freshness

  • Turquoise (#59ADC1) for energy and clear communication

  • Dark Gray (#22282D) for strength and security

  • White (#FFFFFF) for clarity and simplicity

The typeface Neuropol X was chosen for its clean, futuristic feel — a subtle nod to the digital nature of WeLiveIT’s work.

Brand Guide:
I packaged everything into a clear, practical brand guide — covering logo usage, colour codes, and typography — ensuring consistency across all platforms and collateral.

Key improvements:

  • Redesigned the website using WordPress, Elementor, Woocommerce and some additional custom CSS to meet the tight project deadlines. I designed with a mobile-first approach after reviewing the company’s google traffic (It showed that 93% of all site visitors viewed it via mobile)

  • Integrated WhatsApp chat and chatbots for direct lead capture — a very common channel in South Africa’s IT market.

  • Added clearer, more intuitive contact forms with fields for different departments.

  • Integrated WooCommerce for interactive shop function and product catalogue features to allow potential customers to view and compare products and pricing.

  • Redesigned the sitemap, submitted to Google Search Console to boost SEO and discoverability.

  • Refined Google Business Profile: updated office info, launched a Google Reviews push (growing to 50+ 5-star ratings).

  • Managed Google Ads campaigns, testing new schedules to stretch the budget — switching ads on/off for underperforming days and refining target areas based on real traffic data.

Results & Ongoing Impact

The result: a cleaner, more modern site that’s easy to navigate, more discoverable via search, and fully geared toward driving warm leads through WhatsApp, phone calls, or direct forms.

I aligned all their social media accounts with the new brand direction and developed digital marketing materials to match.

For ongoing growth, I monitor their Google campaigns fortnightly — tweaking ad spend, swapping out low-performing geo-targets, and tracking trends in lead generation.

Final Outcome

What started as a quick DIY logo now lives as a unified, future-ready brand identity — backed by a site that works harder to drive leads and a growing reputation that matches the company’s ambitions.
